Description

The Moslavina Museum Kutina is a complex museum institution that collects, processes, presents and publishes the cultural and historical treasures of the Moslavina area, part of Croatian Posavina and western Slavonia. The museum is located in the center of Kutina in the former country castle of Counts Erdödy, built in the middle of the 18th century. It is a baroque rectangular mansion with a small porch above the entrance on the east façade. The original, baroque appearance of the building was changed during the historicist restoration in 1895, recorded on the gable, when the manor received a look that has been slightly altered to this day. The museum was founded on March 15, 1960 as the Museum and Archive of the People's Revolution of Moslavina. The very creation of the museum, and the first years of operation, are inextricably linked to the Historical Department, ie the Department of the National Liberation War. In 1963, it changed its name to the Moslavina Museum, and in addition to the already existing historical department, it expanded its activities to archeology and ethnology, and in 1972, a gallery department was opened. Even today, the museum operates in these four departments. In the building of the Museum of Moslavina Kutina, four permanent exhibits have been set up: archeological, cultural-historical and ethnographic.

The gallery's permanent exhibition is located on the first floor of the gallery, in the former palace of the Ausch family. Occasional exhibitions, promotions, workshops and lectures are presented on the ground floor of the gallery. These four permanent exhibits present museum material from the 24 collections that the Museum of Moslavina Kutina has and show a personal map of Moslavina and the surrounding area.
