Nin near Zadar: Local food specialties & culture tour

This magnificent tour will take you to different parts of Nin - the oldest Croatian royal city, over 3000 years old. Our tour guide Jasmina will reveal to you all the secrets of Nin’s rich culture - maritime tradition, churches, statues... but not only that. History of this magnificent city is also based on gastronomy. Namely, salt and šokol - a dried pork meat product of unique taste. That is why this tour includes a visit to the Salt Museum of Nin Saltworks, as well as šokol ham tasting in the restaurant recommended by the local experts, which can also include a full meal consisting of authentic Croatian meals and products. Indulge in this adventure full of scenes, scents and flavours inspired by tradition and history. The tour is approx 2,5 h long.

• We meet in front of Duke Branimir statue, who was a first legal ruler of Croatia
• Introduction to old Croatian navy - Condura Croatica + taking photos of it
• Entering the old town, visiting the oldest Croatian cathedral
• Visit to the Bishop Grgur Ninski statue - legend says that touching the big toe will fulfill wishes
• Visit to the smallest cathedral in the world, the Church of Holy Cross
• Walk to the Street of Our Lady of Zečevo where Jasmina will tell about the appearance of Our Lady
• Visit of Roman forum, the remains of a monumental Roman Temple, the biggest on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea
• Passing by the Church of St Ambrose we will arrive at the Secret panoramic view
• Visit to Salt Museum where you will be presented a lecture on Saltworks history and salt picking procedures
• Šokol ham tasting with presentation, local cheese, olive oil, bread, two glasses of wine OR all of that paired with the main course and a dessert
