"Commandment under the linden tree"

The cultural and artistic society "Sloga" from village Miklouš near city of Čazma has been organizing the manifestation of traditional culture "Zapovijed pod lipom" for several decades. According to the ancient custom, every second Sunday in July, after the end of the harvest work, they organize this event, unique in Bjelovar-Bilogora County.

As part of the event, members of the KUD "Sloga" present the ancient customs of reading the commandments after Sunday Mass. The village elder thus reads the proclamation at the authentic location under the linden tree in Gornji Miklouš, and then moves in a procession with song and socializing.

This event is an ideal opportunity for all those who want to see how people used to live in the Moslavina region, and the event is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage.
